What is an EV charging RFID card?
An EV charging RFID card is a contactless card that identifies a driver, fleet vehicle, or account at a charging station. Tapping the card starts and stops a session and links the energy used to the right account for billing — no app or phone signal required. As a manufacturer, ChargeRFID supplies these cards to charge point operators, eMobility service providers, and fleet operators, with the chip, format, and material configured to match your charging network.

EV charging RFID card questions
Choosing & ordering EV charging RFID cards
The right card depends on how you charge. Public networks and roaming platforms usually choose 13.56 MHz MIFARE or DESFire cards for secure, account-linked authentication; fleets choose cards with per-vehicle kWh tracking and AES-128 security. For sustainability-led brands, recycled PVC, FSC wood, and bio-based cards deliver the same performance with a far lower carbon footprint. We help you match chip, material, and format to your charging stations and roaming setup.
Yes. Our EV charging RFID cards are tuned for 13.56 MHz authentication and tested against OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 stations from manufacturers including ABB, Kempower, Alfen, and Wallbox. Send us the chip type or UID format your back-office expects and we configure the cards to match before production.
Minimum order quantity starts at 250 pieces. Standard lead time is 2–3 weeks after artwork approval, and we ship free samples in roughly 7 days so you can verify the chip, print, and material before committing to a run.
Fleet, roaming & technical
Yes. Fleet charging cards support per-driver and per-vehicle assignment, kWh-level usage tracking for reconciliation, AES-128 mutual authentication, and multi-depot key management. They work with depot chargers and public networks alike, so drivers carry one card.
It can. Through OCPI and OICP roaming, a single card can authenticate across hundreds of networks via clearing hubs such as Hubject, Gireve, and e-clearing.net. We pre-configure cards for the roaming platforms your service already connects to.
Yes — full-color offset and digital printing, plus laser engraving on wooden cards. We produce white-label and fully branded cards with your logo, colors, sequential numbering, QR codes, and driver welcome-pack packaging.
All of our EV charging cards are available in 100% recycled PVC, FSC-certified wood, or biodegradable bio-based stock — with the same read performance as standard PVC and up to 75% lower carbon footprint.
